The popular archaeological site located in Yucatan has news for you. Chichen Itza will allow only a thousand visitors per day, will only allow the capacity of a thousand people per day. As part of the new protocols by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) will implement after the Covid-19 pandemic.
INAH is preparing for the reopening of archaeological zones, museums, and tourist places. When the epidemiological traffic light turns yellow these places will be available to reopen. To do this, it will implement a protocol to guarantee health and safety conditions for staff and visitors.
Among the new provisions stands out the reduction by up to 70 percent of people in open and closed spaces.

At the moment cultural authorities are working in the reopening. It has been difficult due to the situation but everything is getting ready for the new normal. As you can see Chichen Itza will change in most of its areas. Visitors have to be careful and respect all the new protocols.
Mauricio Díaz Montalvo, a cultural director, announced that in two weeks he would announce the protocols and new measures to be adopted to restart the operation in the main tourist attractions.
The recovering of this Mayan city should be gradual to guarantee safety to all travelers. Chichen Itza used to receive thousands of daily visitors before the pandemic situation. This has been a hard hit for the archaeological site which represents one of the highest income for the state.
